After a lovely Saturday Soup Party at Amychan’s place of residence, I woke up Sunday morning with not a hangover, but an out-and-out cold. As I was unwilling on forcing my Sunday plans out to pasture, the B and I went through our closet, “dining room,” and living room cupboards to get rid of things we didn’t need, all while feeling absolutely horrible.
Monday brought the forcefulness of lungbutter being expelled from my chest, but I actually made it into work… for an hour and a half. After which, I promptly went to RiteAid for drugs, Kleenex, and a thermometer. I was surprised to find that I was not running a fever, as my head felt extremely hot, but my temperature was below normal at 96.5 degrees F. I lay for the rest of the day on the couch watching the Monarch of the Glen second season, sneezing and shuddering.
Amazingly, this morning I feel 723457% better than I did yesterday, with only a bit of a cough left, and the slightest runny nose. How I got better so quickly, I haven’t a clue. I do have to give credit to the Miracles of Modern Medicine, aka Robitussin, for helping me with the expulsion of the dreaded phlegm, as well as Homemade Chicken Soup with Sriracha Chili Sauce for helping me with keeping the olde tummy full. Kudos.
Hope everyone is better off than I, though I know that Ms. New York Graduate School Student is ill, as well as Mr. France. I highly suggest the Homemade Chicken Soup help, as well as the drugs, where you can get them.
Sorry for such a lame post. Obviously, my brain isn’t all too well yet.
Sounds like one of those 24 hour flu thingie dingies. I'm glad that you're feeling better.
