Have you ever noticed that 95% of the human population walks duck-footed? Like with the toes pointed out? I find that completely strange for some reason; maybe it’s because I don’t walk like that. When walking or running, my feet point directly in front of me. This can be a challenge when hiking, because I’ve found that when walking downhill, and for the most part, uphill, one wants to have the inside of the foot pointed forward. I’ve had to retrain myself in this aspect, and yet I still have issues with it. How does everyone else do it? I'm thinking that there are absolutely no duck genes in my family.
My lovely MI holiday starts early tomorrow morning, when I wake up at the crack of 3.30 to get ready for the airport funness. I’ve been looking forward to this for so long; it’s hard to believe that it’s finally less than 24 hours away. I will most likely not have any kind of email/computer/technology other than a teevee access for the time I’m up there, and I don’t have anyone that I would really want to guest blog, so you’ll just have to live without me for 9 days or so. I promise to take lots of pretty pictures (that wouldn’t include me in the bathing suit) to post here when I get back.
We are going to be going to Mackinac Island (pronounced Mackinaw, and sometimes spelled that way), which I highly recommend to anyone up in the MI peninsula, as it is so very totally awesome. I personally plan on gaining at least 5 pounds while on the island from eating fresh fudge (since 1887!) and just-pulled saltwater taffy. I’ll get sick from too much sweets and puke up that 5 pounds, but it will be entirely worth it.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Independence Day weekend (for the ‘merikans here - stay away from those dangerous sparklers!), and don’t be too pain-stricken and heartbroken until my return (leave a lot of comments! ^_^ )
Sounds like a divine vacation..my secretary often orders fudge from Mackinac Island. It gets delivered to the office, and we all have a treat. I'm a big fan of always eating as MUCH fudge as possible. Have fun!
